Further Education and Training Certificate: Film and Television Production – NQF 5
The FET Certificate: Film and Television Production Operations aims to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform effectively in a Film and Television environment. The purpose of the qualification is to provide students with the ability to work in the field of Film and Television industry. Students will specialize and choose a major subject which could either be, Directing & Producing, Lighting & Camera operations, Sound Operations and Post Production Editing. Students will be guided through this process and minimum standards and numbers apply in some electives. The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 24 months
National Certificate NQF 5:
Directing 1, Producing 1, Film Production 1, Camerawork, Lighting + Sound 1.
Electives:
Camerawork, Lighting + Sound 2, Editing 1, Scriptwriting 1, Film Production 2.
Director, Producer, Video Editor, Cinematographer, Production Manager/Assistant , VFX editor, Camera Operator.
Upon completion of theoretical & practical training, an FET Certificate will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training through MICTSETA.
FET Certificate: Sound Technology – NQF 4-5
The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 24 months.
Semester 01:
Music Theory, Audio Electronics, Audio Production, Steinberg Theory, Sound Theory, Music Practical.
Semester 02:
Audio Recording, Sound Theory, Post Production, Steinberg Practical, Mixing & Mastering, Production Year Projec
Studio assistant, Producer, Live event technician/engineer, Stage engineer, Recording technician/engineer, Mastering technician/engineer.
Upon completion, a National Certificate will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training through MICTSETA.
National Certificate: Journalism – NQF 5
Recipients of this qualification are able to write a variety of journalism texts and report at entry level. The qualification is designed to be flexible and accessible to all in journalism and wishing to enter journalism after undergraduate study or equivalent experience. It allows people to write and report in accordance with the requirements of a specific media news enterprise. The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 24 months.
Year 1:
Compu-typing, Desktop publishing, Communication Science, Language Science.
Year 2:
News reporting, Media Production, Photoshop for photographers, Media La
News Reporters, Investigative Reporters, Newspaper & Magazine Sub-Editor, Print Journalist/Reporting, Radio Journalism/Reporting, Public Relations Agent.
Upon completion, a National Certificate will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training through MICTSETA.
